The Academy

The Board and the Jason Laws Golf Academy are pleased to announce that the Club will take over the operation of the Academy from April 1st 2024.  Jason Laws, who has now been associated with the Club for more than 25 years, will continue to provide his award-winning tuition from the Academy as one of the Club’s teaching professionals.

The acquisition would not have been possible without the support of the Newcastle Golf Club Foundation. The Foundation has adopted the practice precinct as the project they will focus on supporting over the coming years. This acquisition represents the first stage in a multistage project. The Foundation will undertake further fundraising activities to assist the Club with this project. The Board thanks the Foundation for its significant support.

Following the acquisition of the Academy, the Club will be adding Ping equipment to our retail stable. These new arrangements with the Academy will also allow the Club to enhance and broaden our golf hardware fitting options.

The acquisition of the Academy business is an important long-term strategic priority that will provide the Club with additional opportunities to improve our member experience. It is also an important part of being able to enhance our practice facilities and car parking long term.

The Board wishes to thank Jason and Alison Laws for the outstanding job they have done in operating the Academy since 2011 and for embracing the vision the Board has for the Academy and into the future.

We will provide more information over the coming months about the operation of the Academy and about the other professionals who will teach from the facility alongside Jason going forward.
